The UK Government is introducing doctoral loans of up to £25,000 for PhDs and equivalent postgraduate research programmes from the academic year 2018-19. Loans will be offered to English-resident UK nationals aged 59 or under without Research Council studentships to study all types of doctorate at universities across the UK.
